Activity description:

The reason for establishing of this team within the Geophysics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences was the concern for the condition and future of education of students in geophysical sciences in Polish universities. The team was composed of representatives of universities, research institutes and industrial plants. The Group united in November 2021 to discuss the situation of geophysical studies at individual universities. The main problem raised at the meeting was the systematically decreasing number of candidates willing to study geophysics, especially in graduate studies. The team proposed actions to prepare, in a short time, a report describing the current state and problems related to the education of geophysicists in Poland.
